SlipAway runs on your phone. We don't have accounts, we don't have a login, and there is no profile of you on our servers. We can't see who you called, what you said, or where you were, because none of it reaches us.
Nothing, unless you email us or join the waitlist. The app has no sign-in and creates no account. Your caller setup, chosen personas, safety phrase and language preference are stored only on your device.
If you enter your email on this website to join the waitlist, we store that address so we can send you one launch email. Nothing else. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
| Permission | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | How your phone rings at the time you scheduled, even when locked. | Stays on your device. |
| Microphone optional |
So the caller knows when you've stopped talking and can reply naturally. | Processed live and discarded. Never recorded, never saved, never uploaded. |
| Speech recognition optional |
Turns what you say into text so the caller can respond to it. | On-device where your iPhone supports it. Cleared when you hang up. |
| Location optional, off by default |
Only if you turn on Ride Guardian, so the caller can mention your ETA and know when you've arrived. | Used during that session and discarded. Not stored, not shared, not used to track you. |
The app works without the microphone, without speech recognition, and without location. Turning them down costs you features, not the call.
If you subscribe to Safety+ and use live AI conversation, what you say during that call is sent to SlipAway's relay so a language model can generate a reply. We send only a short rolling window of the current conversation. It is not stored after the call ends, is not attached to your identity — the relay knows a subscription is valid, not who you are — and is never used to train a model.
Where your iPhone supports on-device intelligence, SlipAway uses that instead and nothing leaves your phone at all.
You can optionally download a speech model so the caller sounds natural without an internet connection. It's a plain data file fetched from a public open-source release. Downloading it tells us nothing about you, and once it's on your phone the voice is generated entirely offline.
Purchases go through Apple. We never see your card details. To confirm a subscription is active, your device sends Apple's signed receipt to our server, which checks Apple's signature and returns an access token. That receipt identifies the subscription, not you.
SlipAway isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Because we hold almost nothing, most requests are simple. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. If you joined the waitlist and want that email removed, ask and we'll delete it.
If this policy changes materially we'll update the date above and note it on this page.
